Arukah Counselling values sensitivity, integrity and respect for the client. Rebecca is passionate about working with the individual, couples, children, adolescents and the entire family system to help bring healing and restoration of wholeness to the person and the family within a supportive, safe and caring environment.

Rebecca understands that our minds and family dynamics are complex, and how life’s journey can challenge us and cause conflicts between loved ones. Individual Counselling and Family Therapy can assist and guide you to resolution and restoration.

Arukah’s Services

“Counselling is a method of relating and responding to other people with the aim of providing them with opportunities to explore, to clarify and work towards living in a more satisfactory and resourceful way”.

The role of the counsellor is to come along-side the client and gently point them in the right direction. Making a commitment to change, setting goals and strategies, taking action steps, using counselling tools and teaching is part of the process involved.

Individual Counselling

In a one-on-one environment Rebecca will work through a counselling framework designed to facilitate the change that needs to happen for the client.

FAMILY THERAPY

The work of the family therapist is different to that of individual therapy in that family therapists focus on the relational aspect of human problems which really means the aim is to look at improving relationships.

Marriage and Couples Counselling

Together Rebecca will assist you and your partner find that healing in relationships, conflicts, communication, providing space for self-exploration and setting realistic goals and expectations is only some of the processes involved in restoration.

Christian Counselling

As a Christian, one understands that humanity is created in the image of God. Healing from deep emotional wounds is often a process and sometimes a life-long journey yet everything is possible with God to bring the much needed healing sooner.

Pre- Marriage Counselling

Marriage is a commitment that often requires preparation both as individuals and as a couple to ensure the next step of your relationship is built on strong, healthy foundations.

Grief and Loss Counselling

Experiencing grief can often feel overwhelming especially the process one may go through with the pain of the loss until one is able to live again and learn to love and the loss can now become a healthy memory. In this process we have grief therapy as an intervention where grief has not yet been resolved even after many years after the loss.

Children and Adolescent Counselling

Rebecca has relevant, wide-range experience in working with adolescents and children in her current work as a School Counsellor and past experience as a School Chaplain and has specific training and development in these areas.

The Arukah Process

Rebecca aims to make your time and experience with her supportive, comforting and informative.

To guide your journey, together you will move through the below steps:

Meeting with Rebecca to establish the therapeutic relationship is an important step to build trust for future conversations and a vital part of the counselling journey. Establishing rapport and building that therapeutic alliance is vital after which there is clarifications of goals and informed consent obtained.

The second and subsequent sessions will begin introducing the framework for therapy. Here there is facilitating change in the client and the therapeutic work.

Ending well is very important in the counselling room and involves more than us simply ending the counselling sessions.
